About JCAR

The Journal of Community Applied Research (JCAR) publishes independent, peer-reviewed research at the intersection of society, ethics, and business. ISSN 3083-2918 (Online).

Aims and Scope

JCAR addresses a documented gap in academic publishing. Research that affects governance, corporate accountability, and social equity too often remains inaccessible to the communities it concerns. JCAR publishes work that is methodologically rigorous, transparently sourced, and practically relevant.

We publish research spanning corporate governance, regulatory policy, human rights, ethics, community wellbeing, social policy, and applied social science. We accept research articles, review articles, commentaries, case studies, and analytical responses.

Core Principles

Open Access

All published papers are freely available under Creative Commons licensing. No author processing charges apply. No paywalls for readers.

Double-Blind Review

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the process.

Community Relevance

We prioritise research with direct implications for communities, policy, governance, and public accountability.

Transparency

Authors must declare funding sources, conflicts of interest, and AI tool usage. All sources must be independently verifiable.

Editorial Board

JCAR is governed by an Editorial Board responsible for editorial standards, peer review oversight, and strategic direction. The Board operates under a formal charter that sets out composition requirements, appointment processes, and diversity commitments.

Editor-in-Chief

Editorial Advisory Board

The Editorial Advisory Board provides independent advice on the journal’s strategic direction, editorial standards, and engagement with the practitioner, policy, and community audiences JCAR is intended to serve.

JCAR is currently inviting expressions of interest for Associate Editor and further Editorial Advisory Board positions. Contact us if you are interested.
